עַל־יְדֵי חֲלִישׁוּת הַלֵּב נוֹפְלִים פְּחָדִים עָלָיו.
A Weak Heart and Fears
Fears fall upon a person through weakness of heart. A mighty man has no fear, because might is mainly in the heart: one whose heart is strong fears nothing and runs into the thick of battle. And the reverse: the soft-hearted are afraid, as in 'the man who is fearful and soft of heart', where Rashi explains that the fear comes from the softness.

Likutey Moharan Tinyana, Torah forty three: a weak heart and fears.
Fears fall on a person through a weak heart.
The mighty one's strength is in the heart: with a strong heart, he fears nothing.
Our own reflection: strengthen your heart, and fears lose their grip.
Explainer
Likutey Moharan Tinyana, Torah forty three. A short teaching about fear and the strength of the heart.
Fears, Rebbe Nachman says, fall upon a person through weakness of the heart. A mighty man has no fear at all, because might lives mainly in the heart. One whose heart is strong fears nothing, and runs into the thick of battle.
And the reverse: the soft-hearted are afraid. As the Torah says of soldiers: the man who is fearful and soft of heart, and Rashi explains that he is afraid because his heart is soft.
Some reflections of our own, not a quotation. Don't fight each fear one by one. Strengthen the heart, with faith, prayer and joy, and the fears lose their grip.

— Part 1: A Weak Heart and Fears —
Likutey Moharan Tinyana, Torah forty three. A short shiur in one part: a weak heart, a strong heart, and fear.
Gold is Rebbe Nachman's own words, from Likutey Moharan Tinyana, Torah forty three. Grey is a verse or teaching he quotes. Green is our own explanation. The Hebrew is the public-domain text from Sefaria; the English is our own paraphrase.
Through weakness of the heart, fears fall upon a person.
For the mighty man has no fear at all, and might is mainly in the heart: one whose heart is strong fears nothing, runs into the thick of battle, and prevails through the strength and courage of his heart.
And so the reverse: the soft-hearted are afraid. This is what is written, 'the man who is fearful and soft of heart', and Rashi explains: fearful, because through the soft heart he is afraid.
Our explanation. Fear is a symptom; its root is a weak heart. So the cure is not to fight each fear one by one, but to strengthen the heart, through faith, prayer and joy, until fear loses its grip.
Some reflections of our own, not a quotation. Don't fight each fear one by one. Strengthen the heart, with faith, prayer and joy, and the fears lose their grip.
