### Part 1 — Reproof and the Scent of the Soul

- Scene 3 · Tehillim 81:4–5 · paragraph §1.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): Sound the shofar at the new moon, at the hidden moon of our festival day. For it is a statute for Israel, a judgment of the Elokim of Yaakov.
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): Reproof is a great thing, and every Jew is obligated to correct his friend when he sees him behaving wrongly, as it says, 'You shall surely reprove your fellow.' Even so, not every person is fit to give reproof. Rabbi Akiva said: I wonder if there is anyone in this generation who knows how to reprove. And if Rabbi Akiva said this in his generation, how much more so in ours.
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): When the one giving reproof is not fit for it, not only does his reproof not help; he even gives a bad smell to the souls who hear it. His words stir up the bad smell of the wrong deeds and bad traits of the people he is correcting.
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): It is like something with an unpleasant smell lying still. As long as no one moves it, the smell is not noticed. Once people start to move it, the smell rises. So too, reproof from someone unfit moves and stirs up the bad smell of people's deeds and traits. He makes their smell bad, which weakens their souls, and so the flow of blessing is cut off from all the worlds that depend on those souls.
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): For the soul is nourished mainly through scent. Our Sages teach: how do we know to say a blessing over a fragrance? Because it says, 'Let every soul praise Hashem.' What does the soul enjoy, and not the body? That is fragrance. So when this reprover makes their smell bad, the soul, which feeds on scent, grows weak, and the blessing to all the worlds that depend on it stops.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): But when the one giving reproof is fit, the opposite happens: his reproof adds a good scent to the souls. Reproof must be like Moshe's reproof of Israel over the golden calf, through which he gave them a good scent, as it says, 'My spikenard gave its fragrance,' said about the calf. It does not say 'lost' its fragrance but 'gave', as Rashi explains there and as the Gemara in Shabbos teaches.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): Through Moshe's reproof over the calf he added a good scent to them, which is food for the soul, since the soul is nourished mainly by scent. Through the voice of a fit reprover, the souls receive a good scent, which is the food of the soul.

### Part 2 — The Voice That Waters the Garden

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): There is food for the soul and food for the body, and the food of the body weakens the food of the soul. Through eating and drinking, the 'heel' of the other side grows, as it says, 'He who eats my bread has raised his heel against me.' Eating strengthens the heels and the legs, as the Gemara says: what you eat shows in your legs.
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): And when the heel of the other side grows, Heaven forbid, the heel of holiness grows weak. That is 'the heel of humility is the fear of Hashem,' and fear of Heaven is scent, as it says of Mashiach, 'He will be filled with the scent of the fear of Hashem.' That is the food of the soul.
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.9
  - EN (our paraphrase): The repair for this is through the voice. The voice waters the garden where all the scents and all the kinds of fear of Heaven grow, as it says, 'A river goes out of Eden to water the garden.' The river is the voice, as in 'The rivers have raised their voice,' and as Adam said, 'I heard Your voice in the garden and I was afraid.' This voice waters the garden, and there all the scents grow, which are fear of Heaven, the food of the soul.
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.10
  - EN (our paraphrase): Through this voice the heel of the other side is humbled, for this voice is 'The voice is the voice of Yaakov.' That is why Yaakov merited scent, as it says of him, 'See, the scent of my son is like the scent of a field.' And he humbles the heel of the other side, as it says, 'His hand was holding the heel of Esav.'
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.11
  - EN (our paraphrase): And this voice is the voice of the fit reprover, as it says, 'Raise your voice like a shofar, and tell My people their sins.' Whoever wants to reprove Israel and tell them their sins needs this voice, so that he does not give them a bad smell by stirring up their sins. Through this voice he adds a good scent to them, because this voice waters the garden, where all the scents grow.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.12
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is why it says 'like a shofar' specifically. The voice that waters the garden is the voice of the melody of the song that will awaken in the future, when Hashem renews His world: the song that is single, double, triple and fourfold. The Hebrew word kashofar hints at it in its letters: pashut, kaful, shalush, ravua, single, double, triple, fourfold. Only with this voice can one truly reprove.
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.13
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is what our Sages meant about the fit reprover: whoever reproves his friend for the sake of Heaven, a thread of kindness is drawn over him, as it says, 'One who reproves a man will in the end find favor.'
- Scene 12 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.14
  - EN (our paraphrase): The thread of kindness is the strings braided and twisted together into a thread. On these strings the melody and song of the future will be played. There are seventy-two strings, matching a holy Name built up in four stages, which is the single, double, triple and fourfold song, as the Tikkunim bring, and which adds up to seventy-two. On these strings the song of the future will be played when Hashem renews His world, as it says, 'The world is built on kindness.'
- Scene 13 · LM II:8 §1 · paragraph §1.15
  - EN (our paraphrase): So the thread of kindness said about the fit reprover is the thread made of these strings, on which the song will be played when the world is renewed. And 'a thread of kindness is drawn over him' means the strings are drawn and stretched out in order to play this song on them. So through his voice, the fit reprover gives the souls a good scent.

### Part 3 — Prayer, Compassion and Daas

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §2 · paragraph §2.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): The way to reach this voice is through prayer. The heart of prayer is compassion and pleading, as the Mishnah in Avos explains, and compassion depends mainly on daas, knowledge of Hashem. As it says, 'They will not harm or destroy on all My holy mountain, for the earth will be full of the knowledge of Hashem as the waters cover the sea.' In the future daas will grow, and there will be no harm and no cruelty, because compassion will spread through daas.
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §2 · paragraph §2.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): But sometimes the other side feeds on the compassion and draws it to itself, so that our compassion becomes less. And even the little compassion that is left is a kind of cruelty, because once they feed on it, it spoils and turns into cruelty, as it says, 'The compassion of the wicked is cruel.'
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §2 · paragraph §2.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the verse, 'Even sea monsters bare the breast,' which is the false compassion of the other side, as in 'like destruction from Shakai.' The holy Name Shakai stands for holy compassion, as in 'May Kel Shakai give you compassion,' which is prayer, that can rearrange the order of nature. But because of 'destruction from Shakai,' the compassion of the other side, 'the daughter of my people became cruel': since they feed on compassion, even the little left to us is damaged and becomes cruelty.
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §2 · paragraph §2.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): Once compassion is spoiled and becomes cruelty, daas is damaged, as our Sages say: whoever gets angry, his wisdom leaves him. Daas shrinks into small, narrow thinking, and then the other side feeds on the damaged daas, as it says, 'And the serpent was cunning.' That is the false daas of the other side, which feeds on the fall of holy daas, damaged by cruelty and anger.
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §2 · paragraph §2.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): From this, Heaven forbid, comes improper desire. For the mind is a wall set up against this desire, as our Sages say: a person does not sin unless a spirit of foolishness enters him. But when the mind and daas are whole, they protect a person against it.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §2 · paragraph §2.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): There are three levels of mind, and each one is its own wall against this desire. From these three come three kinds of compassion. Our Sages learn this from Avimelech's words to Avraham, 'that you will not deal falsely with me, my son or my grandson': so far reaches a father's compassion for his child. These are three kinds of compassion, drawn from three levels of mind, for the son's mind comes from the father's mind.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §2 · paragraph §2.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is also the three prayers of each day. Each prayer belongs to one of these three levels of mind, which are the three kinds of compassion that depend on the mind, since the heart of prayer is compassion and pleading. And so, when daas is damaged, improper desire follows.
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §2 · paragraph §2.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): Then, when compassion and daas are damaged, it is impossible to pray with compassion and pleading, and prayer becomes a matter of judgment. When prayer is judgment, the other side swallows it, Heaven forbid. For the other side feeds mainly on judgments, the narrow states of mind connected with the Name Elokim, as is known. So they grab hold of such a prayer and swallow it.

### Part 4 — The Staff of Strength

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): Then, when prayer has become judgment, we need a person of great strength who can pray a prayer of judgment. Like Pinchas, when he was zealous over the deed of Zimri, as it says, 'Pinchas stood up and prayed,' vayefalel, and our Sages explain that he argued, as it were, in judgment with his Maker. That is a prayer of judgment.
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): He was zealous over Zimri's deed, which is the verse, 'For it is a shameful act, a sin for the judges,' pelilim. It is a sin that needs a prayer of judgment, pelilim, like 'Pinchas stood up, vayefalel.' Whenever there is the damage of improper desire, so that prayer is judgment and the other side swallows it, we need a person of great strength to pray a prayer of judgment, as Pinchas had to at the time of Zimri.
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.3
  - HE: כִּי כְּשֶׁזֶּה הַבַּעַל־כֹּחַ מִתְפַּלֵּל תְּפִלָּה בִּבְחִינַת דִּין, וַאֲזַי הַסִּטְרָא־אָחֳרָא רוֹצֶה לִבְלֹעַ אוֹתָהּ, כִּי הִיא בּוֹלַעַת תָּמִיד הַתְּפִלּוֹת שֶׁהֵם בִּבְחִינַת דִּין כַּנַּ"ל. וַאֲזַי כְּשֶׁהִיא רוֹצָה לִבְלֹעַ זֹאת הַתְּפִלָּה שֶׁל הַבַּעַל־כֹּחַ שֶׁהִיא בִּבְחִינַת דִּין, אֲזַי זֹאת הַתְּפִלָּה הִיא עוֹמֶדֶת בְּבֵית הַבְּלִיעָה שֶׁלּוֹ, בִּבְחִינַת: בְּצַוָּארוֹ יָלִין עֹז;
  - EN (our paraphrase): When this master of strength prays a prayer of judgment, the other side wants to swallow it, since it always swallows prayers of judgment. But when it tries to swallow this prayer, the prayer gets stuck in its throat, as it says, 'Strength lodges in its neck.'
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): The prayer of the master of strength is a 'staff of strength,' and it stands in its neck, in its throat. Then it is forced to vomit, meaning the other side must throw up and give back all the holiness of daas, compassion and prayers that it swallowed, as it says, 'He swallowed wealth, and he will vomit it out.'
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): Not only does it give back all the holiness it swallowed; it is also forced to throw up its very own life force, as it says, 'Kel will drive it out of its belly.' These are the converts. They were once part of the very substance of the other side, and now they return to holiness, because the other side is forced to give up its own life force.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the verse, 'Hashem will send the staff of your strength from Zion; rule in the midst of your enemies.' 'In the midst' specifically, like 'Kel will drive it out of its belly.' The staff of strength, the prayer of the master of strength, goes right down inside it, and makes it throw up its very life force from deep within its belly.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is also, 'You crumbled the sea with Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters on the water.' Through the staff of strength he breaks the heads of the sea monsters on the water. That is the other side, the serpent, which fed on compassion and on daas, which is 'like the waters that cover the sea,' and 'the serpent was cunning.'
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): Through the staff of strength, the prayer of the master of strength, like Pinchas, he brings out the holiness of the daas and the prayers that it swallowed, and breaks the heads of the sea monsters. For the prayer of judgment of the strong one, 'Pinchas stood and prayed,' stands in the serpent's throat, and it is forced to give everything back.
- Scene 12 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is why the letters of vayefalel are the first letters of 'Throw it before Pharaoh; it will become a serpent.' We must throw down the staff of strength, this prayer, before the serpent, on purpose, so that the serpent will swallow this prayer. Through that we bring out of it all the holiness it swallowed, because the prayer stands in its throat.

### Part 5 — Yisro, Thunder and the Spread of Prophecy

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is also 'Yisro heard': what news did he hear that made him come? The splitting of the sea and the war with Amalek. Amalek made Israel impure through the damage of improper desire, as it says, 'who happened upon you on the way,' which hints at an impurity of the night, Heaven forbid, that comes from the power of Amalek. For Amalek feeds on daas, as it says, 'Amalek is the first of the nations,' which is 'the serpent was cunning.' From this comes that impurity of desire: the war with Amalek.
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.9
  - EN (our paraphrase): The repair for this is the splitting of the sea, which is 'You crumbled the sea with Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters on the water.' That is the staff of strength, through which we bring out of it the waters of daas that it swallowed from holiness.
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §3 · paragraph §3.10
  - EN (our paraphrase): Through this, 'Yisro heard,' which means converts. The staff of strength, which is the splitting of the sea, repairs and defeats the war with Amalek, and through that converts come, as in 'Yisro heard.' For we bring out of it even its own life force, which is the converts.
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §4 · paragraph §4.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): And this is thunder. Through the converts made by the staff of strength, when the other side is forced to return all the holiness it swallowed along with its own life force, Hashem's glory grows great, as it says, 'Give to Hashem, families of the nations, give to Hashem glory and strength.'
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §4 · paragraph §4.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is thunder, as it says, 'The Kel of glory thunders; Hashem is over many waters.' The many waters are the waters of daas, as in 'the earth will be full of knowledge of Hashem as the waters cover the sea': the waters of daas that come out of the other side and return to holiness, making converts, so that Hashem's glory grows. That is the thunder. For the great noise and fame of Hashem's glory spread through the converts is thunder, a great, rumbling sound.
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §4 · paragraph §4.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): Our Sages asked: what is thunder? Clouds pouring water into one another. The clouds are the other side, as it says, 'You wrapped Yourself in a cloud so no prayer could pass.' These are the forces that block prayer. When they turn and pour out the waters of daas they swallowed, that is 'clouds pouring water,' and then Hashem's glory is revealed, as it says, 'and the glory of Hashem appeared in the cloud.' That is thunder.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §4 · paragraph §4.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is why the letters of geirim, converts, are the first letters of 'Who can understand the thunder of His might?' For converts are thunder.
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §5 · paragraph §5.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): Through the revelation of Hashem's glory comes the spread of prophecy. For prophecy comes from the roots of the souls of Israel, the seventy souls, as it says, 'With seventy souls your fathers went down,' whose first letters spell navi, prophet. And the root of the souls is glory, as Yaakov said, 'Let my soul not come into their council; let my glory not join their assembly.' So the revelation of glory, the root of the souls, spreads prophecy.
- Scene 12 · LM II:8 §5 · paragraph §5.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the teaching of our Sages: prophecy rests only on one who is wise, strong and wealthy. All three are aspects of glory, from where prophecy is drawn. Wise: 'The wise will inherit glory.' Strong: 'Who is this King of glory? Hashem, mighty and strong.' Wealthy: 'From what was our father's he made all this glory.'
- Scene 13 · LM II:8 §5 · paragraph §5.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): And this is the saying of the Gemara: woe to Me, that I destroyed My house, burned My sanctuary, and exiled My children among the nations. 'I destroyed My house' is the damage of prayer, as it says, 'My house will be called a house of prayer.'
- Scene 14 · LM II:8 §5 · paragraph §5.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'I burned My sanctuary' is the damage of glory, as in 'In His sanctuary all say: glory.' 'I exiled My children' is the loss of prophecy, which comes from the souls of Israel, the seventy souls who went down to Egypt. For the exile of Israel is the loss of the prophecy that comes from their souls.

### Part 6 — Healing, the Sun, and One More Neighbor

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): And this is healing, for all the ideas we have seen are healing. The revelation of glory is the shining of the sun, as it says, 'The glory of Hashem has shone upon you.' And the shining sun brings healing, as our Sages say: when the day rises, illness lifts, as it says, 'For you who fear My Name, a sun of righteousness will shine, with healing.'
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): For the spirit of prophecy that spreads through revealed glory is the healing that comes with the sunshine, as it says, 'A man's spirit will sustain him in his illness.' And glory is revealed mainly through prayer, through which the clouds, the other side and the forces of impurity, fade away. Then converts come, and glory is revealed.
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is also forgiveness of sin, which comes through much prayer, so that the sun shines and brings healing. For sin is a cloud that darkens the sun's light; the nature of sins is darkness, as it says, 'their deeds are in the dark.' And this is illness, since illness comes mainly from sin, as our Sages say: there is no suffering without sin, as it says, 'I will punish their rebellion with the rod and their sin with plagues.' For sins are clouds that darken the light of the sun, which heals.
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): Through prayer sins are atoned, for prayer atones, since it stands in place of an offering, as it says, 'I will bring them to My holy mountain and gladden them in My house of prayer; their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted.'
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): When sins are atoned, the clouds fade away, as it says, 'I have wiped away your rebellions like a mist, and your sins like a cloud.' Then the sun shines, and from there comes healing. For illness is really sin, a cloud and darkness that hides the sun's healing light. When the sin is forgiven, the cloud is gone, the sun shines, and healing comes. And all this comes through prayer, which atones for sin.
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): The main prayer that brings forgiveness and saves from illness comes when a Jewish neighbor is added. Every time a Jewish neighbor is added, prayer grows very, very much. This is the gathering of Israel: the more Jewish souls gather together, the more the house of prayer grows.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): For three stones build six houses, four stones build twenty-four houses, five build a hundred and twenty, and so on, until the mouth cannot say it and the heart cannot think it, as Sefer Yetzirah teaches. So with each stone that is added, the houses multiply over and over.
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): The souls are the stones, as it says, 'The holy stones are scattered,' and the houses are 'My house will be called a house of prayer.' So with each soul added to the gathering of Israel, the house of prayer grows greatly, because one more soul makes very many new combinations, multiplied again and again.
- Scene 12 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): So when a Jewish neighbor is added, for example in a place where Jews live and one more Jew comes to live among them, prayer grows very greatly, because one more soul has joined the gathering. And through the growth of prayer comes forgiveness of sin, which is healing.
- Scene 13 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the verse, 'No neighbor will say, I am sick.' When a neighbor is added, people are saved from illness, for 'the people who dwell there are forgiven their sin.' Through the neighbor, prayer grows, and sin is carried away; then healing comes, and illness ends.
- Scene 14 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): And know: sometimes sin is carried away through the gathering, and sometimes, Heaven forbid, it is 'Surely he carried our illness.' When the members of the gathering are not worthy, they do not merit forgiveness, and then the tzaddik must take suffering upon himself for Israel's sake.
- Scene 15 · LM II:8 §6 · paragraph §6.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): Then only the world is saved from illness, but not the tzaddik, for he accepts suffering for Israel, as in 'Surely he carried our illness.' But when they are worthy and their prayer is fitting, it is 'the people who dwell there are forgiven,' and then the tzaddik too is saved from illness, as in 'No neighbor will say, I am sick.'

### Part 7 — Imagination, Faith and the True Leader

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §7 · paragraph §7.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): Through the spread of prophecy, the power of imagination is clarified and repaired, as it says, 'Through the hand of the prophets I am imagined.' The imagination is repaired and purified mainly when it is in the hands of the prophets. And when the imagination is repaired, true, holy faith is repaired, and false beliefs fall away.
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §7 · paragraph §7.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): For faith depends mainly on the imagination. Where the mind understands, faith does not apply. Faith belongs only where the mind stops and cannot grasp the matter; there faith is needed. And where a person cannot understand with his mind, all that is left is the imagination, and there he needs faith. So faith lives in the imagination, and when prophecy spreads and repairs the imagination, true holy faith is repaired.
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §7 · paragraph §7.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): For there are ten levels of prophecy, matching the Ten Commandments, the dibros. As it says, 'Face to face Hashem spoke with you,' and 'the word of Hashem' means prophecy, as our Sages explain.
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §7 · paragraph §7.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): So through prophecy, which is ten levels, the Ten Commandments, we merit faith in Hashem: to believe that Hashem created everything with ten utterances. So the main repair of holy faith comes through the spirit of prophecy.
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is why one must search very hard for a true leader and come close to him. Every leader has something of the spirit of prophecy. Even now, when prophecy has ceased, a leader must have 'a different spirit,' something not found in the rest of the people, which made him worthy of leadership. Without it, why should this person be the leader and not someone else?
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): In truth, every leader of Israel has 'a different spirit,' for the leader is 'a man in whom there is spirit, who will take them out and bring them in.' A leader who takes Israel out and brings them in surely has a different spirit, which is why he in particular became their leader.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): This different spirit is a kind of holy spirit, a spirit of prophecy. Even though there is no real prophecy now, he surely has a different spirit drawn from holiness, not found in the rest of the people, and that too is a form of holy spirit. It is not holy spirit to know the future, but it is still an aspect of holy spirit, a spirit of prophecy.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): Through the holy spirit of the true leader, all who come close to him are strengthened and repaired in true, holy faith. Whoever merits to come close to the true leader has his imagination repaired and purified through the leader's spirit of prophecy. And through the repair of the imagination, holy faith is repaired. So all who come close to a true leader merit straight, holy faith.
- Scene 12 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): But in truth one must search very, very hard for such a true leader, and must ask Hashem a great deal to merit coming close to a true leader, so as to reach true and complete faith. For coming close to a false leader, Heaven forbid, leads to false beliefs.
- Scene 13 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): A false leader is like a false prophet, 'a spirit of falsehood,' and through him the imagination is spoiled instead, and people come to false beliefs. For faith is repaired mainly through the true leader's spirit of prophecy, which purifies the imagination. Without prophecy the imagination is not clear and repaired, and it confuses a person with false beliefs.

### Part 8 — Sinai, Faith, and the Renewal of the World

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the impurity of the serpent. The mixing and confusing of the imagination with false beliefs is the serpent's impurity. All diviners and sorcerers work through an imagination that is not clarified or repaired, which mixes and confuses them with false beliefs of foolishness and lies. That is the impurity of the serpent.
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is why, when Israel stood at Mount Sinai, their impurity ceased. There they all merited prophecy through Moshe Rabbeinu, the master of all prophets, who was their true leader. Through that their imagination was clarified and repaired, and they merited complete faith in Hashem. So their impurity ended, the serpent's impurity of false beliefs, because they reached complete, straight, holy faith through the purified imagination that came with the spirit of prophecy.
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the extra letter hei of 'the sixth day' in the story of Creation, as it says, 'And it was evening and it was morning, the sixth day.' Our Sages taught: the whole world hung in the balance until the sixth of Sivan, when Israel received the Torah.
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): For the renewal of the world, knowing that the world was newly made and that Hashem created it by His will, depends on faith. The mind cannot grasp how the world came to be, which is why unbelievers deny it. The world's being made new is grasped only through faith: we believe in Hashem that He created the world anew. And in truth, the world was created through faith, as it says, 'All His work is done in faithfulness.' So the renewal of the world depends on faith.
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §8 · paragraph §8.9
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is why the world hung in the balance until the giving of the Torah, for then they reached complete faith through the spirit of prophecy, and so precisely then the renewal of the world was revealed, since it depends on faith.
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §9 · paragraph §9.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): And through faith, the world will be renewed in the future.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §9 · paragraph §9.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): For the gathering of kindnesses, through which the world will be renewed, as it says, 'For I said, the world is built on kindness,' comes through faith, as it says, 'To tell of Your kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness in the nights.' 'Your faithfulness in the nights' is faith, which depends on the imagination, which is night, like a dream at night that comes from the imagination. And through it comes 'Your kindness in the morning': the kindness through which the world will be renewed.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §9 · paragraph §9.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the verse, 'They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.' 'Great is Your faithfulness' is faith; through it the world will be renewed, 'new every morning,' like 'to tell of Your kindness in the morning.'
- Scene 12 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): When the world is renewed in the future, it will be run through wonders, meaning through Hashem's providence alone, which is wonders, beyond the way of nature.
- Scene 13 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): For the future renewal of the world will be through the aspect of the Land of Israel. The essence of the Land of Israel is 'He told His people the power of His works.'
- Scene 14 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): As Rashi explains on 'In the beginning Elokim created the heavens and the earth': the Torah begins with Creation because 'He told His people the power of His works, to give them the inheritance of the nations,' so the nations cannot say, 'You are robbers.' So it opens with Creation: He created it. So the Land of Israel rests on 'the power of His works,' on knowing that Hashem created the world.
- Scene 15 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): In the future the Holy One, blessed be He, will renew the whole world in this aspect of the Land of Israel. Then it will be revealed that Hashem created everything, and then He will renew the whole world in the aspect of the Land of Israel.
- Scene 16 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): The main holiness of the Land of Israel is that Hashem's providence is always there, as it says, 'The eyes of Hashem your Elokim are always upon it, from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.' In the future, when He renews the whole world like the Land of Israel, the whole world will be run by providence alone, like the Land of Israel. Then nature will be cancelled altogether, and the world will be run by providence alone, which is wonders, beyond nature.

### Part 9 — The New Song, and Yissachar's Shoulder

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): Then a new song will awaken, as it says, 'Sing to Hashem a new song, for He has done wonders.' This is the song that will awaken in the future, a melody of providence, of wonders, for then the world will be run through providence and wonders.
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): For there is a melody that belongs to the way of nature, as it says, 'The heavens tell the glory of Kel, and the sky declares the work of His hands.' That is the melody and song of nature, of the patterns of the heavens: the songs and praises we sing to Hashem for the way He runs the world now, through nature.
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): But in the future a new song of wonders will awaken, a song of providence, since then the world will be run by providence alone. This new song is the single, double, triple and fourfold song, which adds up to seventy-two, the number of kindness, through which the world will be renewed: 'the world is built on kindness.' And this song is the voice that waters the garden, the voice that can give reproof: 'Raise your voice like a shofar, and tell.'
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): So through prayer we reach all these levels, which bring us to the voice through which we can give reproof. Through prayer, converts come and glory is revealed; through that, prophecy spreads; through prophecy we merit faith; through faith the world will be renewed in the future. The renewal of the world is like the Land of Israel, run by providence, and then the song of providence and wonders will awaken. And this song is the voice.
- Scene 8 · Bereishis 49:15 · paragraph §10.9, §10.10
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the verse: 'He saw that rest was good and the land was pleasant, so he bent his shoulder to bear, and became a servant under tribute.'
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.11, §10.12
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'Rest' is prophecy, as it says of Baruch ben Neriyah, 'and I found no rest,' which our Sages explain means prophecy. 'And the land' means the Land of Israel.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.13
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'He bent his shoulder to bear' is melody, the new song, as in 'they shall carry it on the shoulder,' and our Sages teach that 'carry' here means song, as it says, 'Lift up a song and sound the drum.' Through the melody, the new song, scent is repaired, and scent is Mashiach, as it says, 'The breath of our nostrils, Hashem's anointed.'
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §10 · paragraph §10.14
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'And became a servant under tribute,' l'mas oved, is Mashiach, as it says, 'Blessed is Hashem who has not left you without a redeemer… and they named him Oved.' And l'mas hints at mismus, crushing something fragrant so its scent spreads. For through all these levels, scent is repaired, and scent is Mashiach.

### Part 10 — Rosh Hashanah and the Shofar Blasts

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §11 · paragraph §11.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is Rosh Hashanah. On Rosh Hashanah prayer is in the aspect of judgment, for 'judgment belongs to Elokim.' Through it we bring out all the life force of the other side, which fed on the daas and the prayers of Israel.
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §11 · paragraph §11.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the verse, 'For it is a statute for Israel, a judgment of the Elokim of Yaakov.' A statute, chok, means food, as our Sages explain on this verse. That is, we bring out all the food and life force from the other side, which is forced to give everything back through 'a judgment of the Elokim of Yaakov': the prayer of judgment, the staff of strength, through which it throws up all the holiness it swallowed from the daas and prayers of Israel.
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §11 · paragraph §11.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the month of Tishrei: 'You crumbled the sea with Your strength; You broke the heads of the sea monsters.' The first letters of yam shibarta roshei saninim rearrange to spell Tishrei. When the other side returns the holiness of daas it swallowed, the mind and daas are whole. That is Rosh Hashanah, 'head' of the year specifically: the repair of the head and mind through the staff of strength.
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §11 · paragraph §11.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): When we bring out of the other side what it swallowed, we also bring out its own life force, which is the converts. This too is Tishrei: in the verse 'You know the soul of the stranger, for you were strangers,' the last letters spell Tishrei. Through converts glory is revealed, prophecy spreads, holy faith is repaired, and false beliefs fall away.
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §11 · paragraph §11.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is tekiah, teruah, shevarim. Tekiah is the revelation of glory, as in 'I will fix him, utka'tiv, as a peg in a firm place, and he will be a throne of glory.' Teruah is the spirit of prophecy, as in 'Hashem his Elokim is with him, and the King's teruah is among them,' which the Targum renders as the Shechinah of their King among them: the resting of the Shechinah, which is prophecy.
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §11 · paragraph §11.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): Shevarim is the breaking of false beliefs, as in 'You shall surely break their pillars,' and the repair of holy faith, as in 'The eyes of all look hopefully to You,' yesaberu. And through faith we merit the renewal of the world.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §11 · paragraph §11.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is Tishrei too, for the world was created in Tishrei, and the renewal of the world will be like the Land of Israel, through providence. That is Rosh Hashanah, as it says, 'The eyes of Hashem your Elokim are always upon it, from the beginning of the year.' Then the new song will awaken, and that too is Tishrei, as in 'Come, look, tashuri, from the peak of Amanah.'

### Part 11 — The Lungs: Breath, Mind and Song

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): And this is the lung. When the lung is healthy and balanced, all the ideas we have seen are found in it.
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): The master of strength who prays a prayer of judgment and so brings all the holiness out of the other side, like Pinchas, is 'a faithful messenger to those who send him,' for he gives his life for Israel. And this is the lung, as it says, 'Like the cool of snow on a harvest day is a faithful messenger to those who send him.' Coolness is the lung, which cools the body's heat. As the Tikkunim say: were it not for the lung's wings blowing on the heart, the heart would burn up the whole body.
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): The wholeness of daas is in the lung. For daas and the mind depend on the body's richness, its oils. The intellect burns like a lamp from the body's oils, and the lung raises them up to the brain through its breathing. Breathing also keeps all the body's oils in existence, and on that the mind mainly depends.
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is why the mind is called neshamah, a soul, as in 'The breath, nishmas, of Shakai gives them understanding,' because the mind and daas depend mainly on neshimah, breathing. And this is 'The lamp of Hashem is the soul of man.' The intellect is a lamp burning on the body's oils, which are kept and raised to the brain by the lung's breathing. So the existence of daas depends mainly on the lung.
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): The converts are 'breath goes down, breath goes up,' said in the Tikkunim about the lung. For there are 'breaths,' hevel, in the world, as in 'They are vanity, hevel, a work of delusion': the empty vanities of the world. When a person takes in these vanities and brings them into Torah and prayer, and holy breath is made of them, that is converts.
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): From the empty breath of delusion is made the holy breath of Torah and prayer, which is converts. That is 'breath goes down, breath goes up,' said of the lung, which takes in breath and lets out breath: converts are made by taking in the vanities of the world and raising them up to holy breath through Torah and prayer.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): The revelation of glory is 'Honor Hashem with your wealth,' mehonecha. Our Sages read it: not mehonecha, from your wealth, but migronecha, from your throat. And the throat comes out of the lung.
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): The spread of prophecy is the breath of the lung's wings, which is the spirit of prophecy, as in 'The spirit of Hashem spoke in me.'
- Scene 12 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): The repair of the imagination is in the lung, for sleep and imagination depend on the lung. Sleep and imagination come mainly from cold and moisture, which is why people grow sleepy in the rainy season. The lung is cold and moist, and so sleep and imagination come from it: the images that come to a person in sleep, which is the power of imagination.
- Scene 13 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): The renewal of the world is in the lung: 'You send forth Your breath and they are created, and You renew the face of the earth,' the breath of the lung's wings. And the renewal of the world is through providence, the aspect of the Land of Israel, which is also the lung, as our Sages say: why is it called rei'ah? Because it brings light, me'irah, to the eyes. That is 'the eyes of Hashem your Elokim are always upon it,' said of the Land of Israel, which is providence.
- Scene 14 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.9
  - EN (our paraphrase): The melody and new song are in the lung: 'Call out with the throat, do not hold back; raise your voice like a shofar.' The throat is the lung, and there is the melody, which is 'like a shofar.'
- Scene 15 · LM II:8 §12 · paragraph §12.10
  - EN (our paraphrase): The repair of scent and fear of Heaven, the soul's food, repaired through all these levels, is in the lung. The letters of rei'ah, lung, are the last letters of 'Hashem is my shepherd, I shall not lack.' That verse is the food of the soul, and 'I shall not lack' is 'there is no lack for those who fear Him': fear of Heaven, which is scent, the food of the soul.

### Part 12 — Og and the Mountain

- Scene 2 · Berachos 54b · paragraph §13.1
  - EN (our paraphrase): Og said: how big is the camp of Israel? Three parsa. I will go and uproot a mountain three parsa wide and throw it on them. He uprooted a mountain three parsa wide and set it on his head. Hashem brought ants upon it, and they bored through it, and it sank down onto his neck. He tried to pull it off, but his teeth stretched out this way and that. How tall was Moshe? Ten cubits. He took an axe ten cubits long, jumped ten cubits, struck Og on his ankle, and killed him.
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): Og's hold was on the right side, as the Zohar brings, and he fed on holy daas, for from the right side comes a mind white as silver. That is why he wanted to overpower Israel, and why he said, 'How big is the camp of Israel? Three parsa.'
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'The camp of Israel' is the holiness of Israel's camp, as it says, 'Your camp shall be holy.' The main holiness of Israel's camp comes from guarding against improper desire and the impurity of the night, Heaven forbid, as written in that passage. And the main guard against this desire is 'three parsa': the three levels of mind, each a wall set up against this desire.
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.4
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'How big is the camp of Israel? Three parsa.' The main holiness of Israel's camp, being holy and guarded from this desire, comes through 'three parsa,' the three levels of mind, which are walls, perusah, set up against that desire.
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'I will uproot a mountain three parsa wide and throw it on them.' The mountain is prayer, as it says, 'I will bring them to My holy mountain and gladden them in My house of prayer.' It is 'three parsa' because prayer too is drawn from the three levels of mind, the walls from which come the three kinds of compassion, which are the three prayers of each day.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is, the other side, which feeds on daas, which is Og, wants to uproot the prayers of Israel, draw them to itself and swallow them. And that is why he said, 'and throw it on them.' His main wish is only to draw Israel's prayers to himself and take hold of them; but afterwards, once they are with him, he is happy to throw them back on Israel.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): For once he has already fed from them, even if he gives them back to Israel by himself, they are still damaged, because he has fed from them, for 'the compassion of the wicked is cruel.' So when he feeds on Israel's compassion and prayers, even though he hands them back on his own, they are damaged by his hold on them.
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is 'and throw it on them': after uprooting and swallowing them, he wants to throw them back to Israel, since they are already damaged by him. For since the other side was not humbled and returns them on its own, they are damaged. But when they are taken from it against its will, by the staff of strength, the other side is humbled completely, and everything returns to holiness whole. Understand this; so it seems to me.
- Scene 13 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'He uprooted a mountain three parsa wide and set it on his head': he overpowered and uprooted the prayers of Israel, the 'mountain of three parsa.' 'And set it on his head': he drew the prayers, which are daas and compassion, into his own head and mind, which is 'the serpent was cunning.'

### Part 13 — The Ants, Moshe's Axe, and the Heel

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.8, §13.9
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'Hashem brought ants,' kumtza: this is the prayer of the master of strength, which is kimutz, narrowness and judgment, the staff of strength. 'And they bored through it': this is 'You pierced with his own staffs the head of his warriors.' Through the strong one's prayer of narrowness and judgment, the staff of strength, the other side is broken and humbled, because the prayer stands in its throat, 'Strength lodges in its neck.'
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.10, §13.11
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'It sank down onto his neck': the prayer stands in its neck, as in 'Strength lodges in its neck.' 'He tried to pull it off': it is forced to give back and throw up all the holiness of the prayers and the daas it swallowed, as in 'He swallowed wealth, and he will vomit it out.'
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.12
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'His teeth stretched out': not only does it give back the holiness of Israel's prayers, but also 'Kel will drive it out of its belly,' meaning it is forced to give up its own life force, which is the converts. That is 'his teeth,' shinei, as in 'his insides are like polished ivory,' shen: it is forced to give up its life force from deep within, as in 'rule in the midst of your enemies.'
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.13
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'How tall was Moshe? Ten cubits.' Moshe is prophecy, for he was the master of all prophets, and ten cubits are the ten levels of prophecy. Through the staff of strength glory is revealed, and through that we merit prophecy.
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.14
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'He took an axe ten cubits long': the axe is the tools of the work of Creation, and 'ten cubits' are the ten utterances with which the world was created, the tools of Creation. Through prophecy we merit faith, which is the ten utterances. Through faith we believe in the renewal of the world, that Hashem created everything with ten utterances. And through faith we merit the future renewal of the world, when the new song will awaken.
- Scene 8 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.15
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'He jumped ten cubits': this is the song of the future, the single, double, triple and fourfold song, which has ten letters, like ten cubits. 'Jumped' is 'leaping over the mountains, skipping over the hills.' Mountains and hills are scents, as in 'I will go to the mountain of myrrh and the hill of frankincense': the scents that grow in the garden through the voice of the melody, which waters the garden.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.16
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is 'leaping over the mountains, skipping': the melody through which the scents, the mountains and hills, grow. 'Leaping' is the measures of a tune, which are made by leaping and skipping across the strings of the harp.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.16
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is 'he jumped ten cubits': the melody, 'leaping over the mountains,' which we reach through all the levels before it. And this melody is the voice, the voice of Yaakov, which humbles the heel of the other side.
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §13 · paragraph §13.17
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'He struck him on his ankle and killed him': he struck and humbled the heel of the other side through the voice of the melody, the voice of Yaakov, which humbles the heel of the other side, as in 'his hand was holding the heel of Esav.'

### Part 14 — The Opening Verse Explained

- Scene 2 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.1, §14.2
  - EN (our paraphrase): This is the meaning of 'Sound the shofar at the new moon.' Tik'u, sound: this is the revelation of glory, as in 'I will fix him, utka'tiv, as a peg in a firm place, and he will be a throne of glory.'
- Scene 3 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.3
  - EN (our paraphrase): Bachodesh, at the new moon: this is chidush, the renewal of the world, the new song. And this is the shofar: 'Raise your voice like a shofar.'
- Scene 4 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.4, §14.5
  - EN (our paraphrase): Then the verse explains how, through the revelation of glory, which is tik'u, we reach the renewal of the world, the new song, which is 'the shofar at the new moon.' And that is: 'at the hidden moon of our festival day.'
- Scene 5 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.6
  - EN (our paraphrase): Bakeseh, hidden: this is prophecy, as in 'Shall I hide, hamechaseh, from Avraham what I am doing?' That is prophecy, as in 'For Hashem Elokim does nothing without revealing His secret to His servants the prophets.'
- Scene 6 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.7
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'Our festival day' is Rosh Hashanah. This is faith, repaired through the repair of the imagination, which is chag, as in 'with a compass, mechugah, he outlines it,' yeta'arehu. Yeta'arehu means descriptions and praises, which belong to the imagination, for all the descriptions and praises with which we picture Hashem come from the imagination.
- Scene 7 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.8
  - EN (our paraphrase): For in the innermost reach of the mind, Hashem is utterly beyond all praises and descriptions. So all praises and descriptions belong to the imagination. Therefore, when the imagination is clarified and repaired, we can arrange praises and descriptions of Hashem. When the imagination is not repaired, we do not know how to describe Him at all, so to speak, with praises and descriptions, since they all belong to the imagination.
- Scene 9 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.9
  - EN (our paraphrase): That is chag, 'with a compass he outlines it,' and through it faith is repaired, which is Rosh Hashanah. For the essence of Rosh Hashanah, when the world is renewed, since the world was created in Tishrei, depends on faith.
- Scene 10 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.10
  - EN (our paraphrase): 'At the hidden moon of our festival day': the repair of the imagination and of faith comes mainly through prophecy. So Rosh Hashanah, which is faith, depends on Sivan, the giving of the Torah, through which faith was repaired. Through repairing imagination and faith by prophecy, 'the hidden moon of our festival day,' we reach the renewal of the world, the new song, which is 'the shofar at the new moon.'
- Scene 11 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.10
  - EN (our paraphrase): And all this flows from the revelation of glory, which is tik'u, sound. For through the revelation of glory, prophecy spreads, and all the rest follows.
- Scene 12 · LM II:8 §14 · paragraph §14.11
  - EN (our paraphrase): And all these levels together are achieved through 'For it is a statute for Israel, a judgment of the Elokim of Yaakov,' which is the staff of strength. Through it, all of these are achieved.
